i open my blogger account today and whuuuz....it's a new layout (?)..new blogger design..blah blah i don't know what's the name..i like the new one! it looks clean and nice! :)
good job blogger!
anyway, i just finished my mid term exam today, still have to finish my essay until April 5th for another class.
and guess what? i really not expected any form of exam that would be like that one!
don't understand?
well....yesterday, my roommate, Mia, had her exam on Korean history class, however, after that exam she's all complaining the exam. the topic was about korean folk story and all she expected is that the exam would be something to tell about the moral story, what kind of culture in that story, or maybe re-tell the story with your own words, or something like that. in fact......it's 'fill in the blank' problem!
so those korean story was in korean, and someone translated it so foreigners can understand that. but actually the vocab, and grammar was terrible. and the exam is like.....fill in the blank with the words which is must be exactly the same with those translated story. terrible! i mean..who in the earth memorizing word by word of that story!! hahah..eat that
then i was so sympathy with her experience of exam..and today we have a same exam, but it's about development of a new product, business case, and something like that...so i thought that, okay..maybe that korean history class is just the only crazy class with memorizing words. and then we study for our exam today, and expecting some questions. the professor said that there will be a memorizing questions, so we memorize that all, list of some factors, considerations, a graphic, a flow, and we were expecting maybe we have to list something and describe (just like high school problem), and actually, we were hoping that there will be more analyzing questions which is we think is more useful for our real life.
we study, and relax...until we got that exam paper..and first question is like..
'a successful product is the one that delivers unique benefits and superior value to customers and drives (.............) (..................) of the company'
ha ha ha ha ha
really...fill in the blank.
okay..not all the questions are like that, but basically the same, you have to memorize ALL words.....like the details....oh...i better eat those paper
no actually
huh.yeah nice experience hahah.
while in ITB we used to be taught to give a different answer, not using the standard or exact words, but to understand it and deliver it with our own understanding and diction, in here.....we have to memorize it all..like memory monster, eat the books, have the same exact answer..
while in ITB we used to those questions..that mostly about the practical, analyzing real problem, make a relation to our project, what will we make from those theories and so on.....here....we have to fill in the blank, the definition, list all that factors, and describe it (better if it's the same with what the books said)....
so freaking different......hahaha
woah..i better prepare for my design human factor final exam from now on hahaha
because...there are soooooo manyyyyyy things to memorize...
oh come on...why you have google? why you have smart phone? why? we can easily search something on google, then why we have to memorize those things? it's not really practical...oh..come on. just my opinion :))
like i said before, in a real life, real work environment, i can use google to find definitions, inventor and something like that,
but the understanding, the ability to work on case by case and the process is the one that we cannot find on google, we have to learn that (yeah well we can learn that by searching how to on google, but it's too late if you're already at work)...that ability is needed..
oh well..again..that's my opinion
however, i enjoy study here, really push me to the limit and open my mind :)
ah..and it's a good thing that weekend is coming! cannot wait for April 1st :)
