Wow gak tuh. Jadi kegiatan gw pas musim panas kemarin bener-bener pagi ke perpus, baca buku, siang makan di kantin, baca buku ...

Low buy challenge

So, since last November I tried to challenge myself with ‘no spend month’ or ‘no buy month’. The challenge is basically to not spend any money on other things except for basic necessities like food, transportation.

It was an attempt to save money for my travelling plans and just a challenge in general, cause I love random challenge, i’m just that competitive for random things. Anyway, so it’s been 9 months since I start this challenge, aaaand..the truth is I don’t know I’m not sure if I succeed or not in this challenge, so I’m just going to list all the spendings outside my basic necessities to see if i’m doing well on this challenge.

November: No buy month

December: I bought a sticker book and a diary for 2020 (which is pretty useless now, hah hah, too many feels every day because of this corona thingy and my diary can’t handle it)

January: No buy month

February: Bought lampit for my bedroom, and My Day 3rd kit (I genuinely thought this year is gonna be awesome, I was going to dedicate my savings to their concerts etc, so this fan club kit was a much needed item, you know to buy the ticket bla bla bla, and then corona came just like that, so yea. The bright side is my savings is safe from me, but still i hate corona)

March: Bought a plastic drawer for my bedroom, and sweeper stick mop. And this was the beginning of corona times....my sister was quarantined in my room cause she came from other city, so I slept in the living room for 2 weeks, and I can’t stand the dust (from cushions, tons of books, and the window that is closer to the outside world) so I bought air purifier (literally can’t sleep at night from the allergy), super expensive and I hate spending money lol, but my sleep is more expensive so yeah..oh and bought more hand sanitizer and tissue....

April: By this time I realized i will spend a lot of time at home, and some of my t-shirts (from like...12 years ago) are falling apart, so I need to change them and bought 4 t-shirts to wear at home.

May: I planned to buy new earphone since forever because mine was also falling apart, but i held into it, and tape it where it is broken, but then the time has come, I tossed this broken earphone and bought a new one.

June: Oh this is the month of my impulse buy lololol. I definitely won’t call this challenge a success because of this month lol. I bought a new ipad case, tablet standing, apple pencil sticker, keyboard, and membership for online course lol. Gosh, i bought a lot . For real. And non essential lololol. Can we just look over it because you know...yea....staying at home...it’s just...well..lol...but anyway buying them was not a regret cause I use them very diligently (except for the online course, excuse me....)

July: No buy month. Oh I bought Rujak cingur for the first time after the whole 5 months staying at home and not buying any food delivery. Loved it. Yea. I miss you rujak cingur.

So out of 9 months, I succeeded the no buy for 3 months! Not bad not bad. Yea.

And I’m going to continue my no buy challenge! At least until this December. This time I’m going to be all in. I have my strategies now, so yeah.
